Groundwork - One Stop Community Partnership Programme
Next deadline: 24/01/2025
Grants are available through a partnership programme to support not-for-profit organisations with local community projects that address social welfare and environmental issues. The programme is designed to create a partnership of support to community groups, operating within two miles of a One Stop store, who are working in a number of categories including running youth sports teams.

LGBT+ Futures: Equity Fund - Round 2 (under and over £10,000)
Deadline: 21/11/2024
Grants are available to not-for-profit organisations led by and for under-represented groups within the LGBT+ community in England.
Amount: between £100 to £25,000
Masonic Charitable Foundation – Children and Young People Grants Programme (under and over £10,000)
This programme is open to national and local charities helping disadvantaged children and young people to overcome the challenges they face.
Small grants are for charities whose annual income is between £25,000 and £500,000. These grants are unrestricted, and range from £1,000-£5,000 per year, for up to three years.
Large grants are for larger charities whose annual income is between £500,000 and £10m. They must be restricted to a project, and usually range from £10,000 to £60,000. They can be awarded over one to three years.
Masonic Charitable Foundation – Children and Young People Grants Programme (SEND)
Grants are available for local and national charities in England and Wales who are working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Amount: £1,000 to £60,000
National Lottery Awards for All - England
Grants of between £300 and £10,000 are available for charities, voluntary groups, schools and local authorities in England to carry out projects that will improve their local community. This can include running costs, events, small land or refurbishment capital projects, equipment, staff costs, transport and more.
National Lottery Community Fund - #iwill Fund
The #iwill Fund will enable more young people to take part in social action through high quality opportunities which create lifelong habits. Find out more on the website.
NCS Grant Giving programme
National Citizen Service Trust (NCS) have introduced a grant programme which will allow grants to be awarded to local organisations so they can deliver community-based experiences. The grant amount will be based on the number of young people between the defined age range in those regions.
Persimmon Community Champions
One-off grants of around £1,000 are available for local community organisations and charities that have already secured matched funding for local community initiatives across England, Scotland and Wales.
Sport England – Movement Fund (under and over £10,000)
Grants and other resources are available for community groups, local sports clubs and grassroots organisations across England with ideas of how to tackle inequalities and help get more people active.
Amount: £300 to £15,000
Sport England – Movement Fund (with crowdfunding)
Grants are available for formally constituted not-for-profit organisations in England who can raise their initial funding through a crowdfunding campaign for projects that improve physical activity for people and communities who need it most with particular interest in opportunities for groups facing barriers to activity.
Amount: Grants are available in the form of match funding of up to 50% toward the initial crowdfunding target (up to a maximum of £15,000).
SUEZ Communities Trust Landfill Communities Fund - Primary Fund (England) (under and over £10,000)

Grants are available to non-profit making organisations in qualifying areas of England for improvements to local community facilities, historic buildings and structures, sport and recreation facilities.
Amount: £3,000 to £50,000
Turning Point - Community Innovation Fund
Grants are available for voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations for project ideas that improve wellbeing and connectivity in the over 280 Turning Point communities across England.
Amount: up to £2,500
Windrush Day Grant Scheme 2025 (under and over £10,000)
Deadline: 25/11/2024
Grants are available for local authorities, charities and community groups in England to commemorate, celebrate and educate people about the history of the MV Empire Windrush and the contribution of the Windrush generation and their descendants.
Tier 1: smaller projects between £5,000 and £24,999.

Grants over £10,000
Biffa Award - Community Buildings
Grants are available for not-for-profit organisations to provide and improve community buildings that are located within the vicinity of a Biffa Operation or Biffa Landfill site in order to ‘act as mechanisms’ for community involvement.
The Biffa Award Community Buildings theme aims to improve buildings at the heart of their communities, such as village halls, community centres and church halls, which are within five miles of a significant Biffa Operation or within 10 miles of an active Biffa Landfill site with the aim of encouraging and enhancing community involvement.
Amount: £10,000 to £75,000
Biffa Award - Recreation
Grants of between £10,000 and £75,000 are available for not-for-profit organisations with five miles of a significant Biffa operation or 10 miles of an active Biffa Landfill site.
Projects under the Recreation theme can include new play equipment; landscaping works, including boardwalks, trees and shrubs; skate parks; woodland walks; nature trails; outdoor gyms; and building works within communal areas of sporting clubhouses (such as kitchen and toilet facilities) which have a wider community use and are not for the sole use of sports club members.
Big Issue Invest - Impact Loans England
Loans are available for social enterprises and registered charities in England to help them grow and continue the good work they are currently doing.
Amount: £20,000 to £200,000
Community Investment Fund
Loans and equity investments are available to community based, locally led charities and social enterprises in England that are providing essential health, social care, education and training services to improve the quality of life of local individuals, especially those who are vulnerable and disadvantaged.
Amount: £250,000 to £2,000,000
Crowdfunder – Cost of Living Resilience Fund
Grants are available through this match funding scheme to assist social sector organisations in areas of deprivation in England who are providing services to support people struggling with the rising cost of living.
Amount: up to £50,000
DHSC Suicide Prevention Grant Fund 2023-2025
Revenue grants are available for non-profit organisations to support suicide prevention activities delivered in England from 2023 to 2025.
Amount: up to £750,000
Energy Resilience Fund
A mixture of grant and loan funding is available to support community organisations and social enterprises in England to undertake retrofitting energy generating and saving technology and building adaptations.

The Morrisons Foundation awards grant funding for charity projects which make a positive difference in local communities. In the main grants are available to fully fund projects up to £25,000.
National Lottery Community Fund - Partnerships
This programme offers a larger amount of funding (over £10,000) for organisations that work together with a shared set of goals to help their community – whether that’s a community living in the same area, or people with similar interests or life experiences.
Funding can be spent on costs associated with delivering your activities, organisational development including staff training, and IT upgrades/purchase, core/fixed costs like salaries, rent, utilities, equipment, and capital – purchase, refurbishment or developing of land and buildings.
National Lottery Community Fund - Reaching Communities
Large grants are available to voluntary and community organisations in England for projects that make positive changes in their communities.

Social Investment Business - Cost of Living Fund
Deadline: 31/12/2024
Discretionary unrestricted grants are available for UK charities and social enterprises based and delivering their work in England and who are already supporting people impacted by the cost-of-living crisis. The grant is to be used alongside a loan from the SIB Recovery Loan Fund.

Loan funding is available to a wide range of incorporated organisations based and operating in England to deliver projects using sport and sporting facilities that generate sustainable revenue and deliver long-term community impact.

Grants for constituted, not-for-profit organisations and local authorities for projects that make improvements to community facilities and the natural environment that are located near a qualifying Veolia site in England.

Windrush Day Grant Scheme 2025 (under and over £10,000)

Grants are available for local authorities, charities and community groups in England to commemorate, celebrate and educate people about the history of the MV Empire Windrush and the contribution of the Windrush generation and their descendants.

Youth Endowment Fund - Open Call
Grants are available for delivery organisations that work to reduce young people’s involvement in violence for well-established projects delivered in England or Wales.
Sport specific grants
Bowls England - Development Loans for Clubs
Bowls England offers all affiliated clubs the opportunity to apply for a Club Loan of up to £20,000. A Club Loan may be used for any reasonable purpose including: Purchase of lawn mowers, scarifiers, turf irons or sprinkler systems, Repair of ditches and banks, clubhouse development, fencing, car parking, changing rooms.
England and Wales Cricket Board - EWCT Interest Free Loan Scheme
The funding is intended to finance capital projects - including renovations - to improve facilities which contribute to increased participation in cricket.
The maximum loan available is £50,000.
Cricket clubs with a junior section can apply for £1,000 to £50,000.
Cricket clubs without a junior section can apply for £1,000 to £20,000.
All loans are interest free.
England and Wales Cricket Board - County Grants Fund
Grants are available to support ECB affiliated cricket clubs in England and Wales with creating welcoming environments, providing enhanced facilities and playing opportunities, and tackling the impact of climate change.
Amount: £10,000 to £1,000
England and Wales Cricket Board - Grass Pitch Improvement Fund
Grants are available to support ECB affiliated cricket clubs to help address inequalities in access to safe, good quality grass cricket pitches across England and Wales. Priority will be given to application that support cricket for groups in the following:
- Women’s and girls’ cricket
- Cricket in diverse communities
- Disability cricket
- Low socio-economic groups (LSEG)
Amount: this will be determined on a case by case basis
Football Foundation - Facilities Grants
Grants are available for the provision of capital items, or to refurbish/improve existing community football facilities in England.
Premier League Stadium Fund
Grants are available for clubs playing in the England and Wales football pyramid to make improvements to their stadiums.
Amount: up to £750,000
Utilita Football Rebooted - Grassroots Fund
Grants are available for FA-accredited community football clubs and leagues to improve the experience and accessibility of football to local people.
Volleyball England Foundation
Grants are available to support Volleyball England-affiliated clubs. The current focus will run until December 2023 and will support the development of Sitting Volleyball.

Funds for registered charities only
Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation
Grants are available for registered charities in England, Wales, the Isle of Man, and Republic of Ireland to support a range of good causes that will benefit those most in need. One of the objectives is Amateur sport: to improve physical and mental health with a focus on sport provision for people with disabilities.
Amount: Funding is at the discretion of the Trustees.
Previous grants have ranged from £5,000 to £2.25 million.
Bernard Sunley Foundation
One-off capital grants are available to registered charities in England and Wales, as well as those with 'accepted' and 'exempt' status, for projects in the areas of community, education, health and social welfare.
