Funders are gearing up to help groups to weather the crisis this winter. At Sported, we've gathered information about some of the extra targetted funding and financial help available.
Cost of living funds
Sported have gathered potential funders, with a new focus on those which will cover core costs as well as project funding. Don't forget to look in the Sported funding bulletin for your region.
The Household Hardship Fund is a £1 million fund provided by The National Lottery Community Fund and administered by Corra Foundation.
- The purpose of the Household Hardship Fund is to provide small grants to charities and community groups across Scotland who can pass the funding on directly to families and individuals on low incomes.
- Groups can apply for up to £5,000 to provide families and individuals with cash or vouchers to meet pressing needs such as food, fuel, household items or clothing.
- All funds must be passed on to families and individuals by 30 June 2023.
- Please only apply for the amount of money that you are confident you can distribute by 30 June 2023. The minimum your group can apply for is £500.
Asda Foundations's Cost of Living Grant has grants of up to £2,000 available for local charities and community groups to help with rent, utility bills and food costs. Funds can be spent from September 2022 to February 2023.

BBC Children in need have several funding streams, inlcuding one to support organisations' core costs more
At the end of October Chilren in need announced an immediate £3 million in extra funding to urgently address the impact of the cost of living crisis on organisations supporting children and young people.
Aviva have just launched a Cost of Living matched fund via Crowdfunder, with an additional £2 million Cost of Living Boost, the Aviva Community Fund will support the causes helping those who need it most. more
